Christoph Schön laid the foundation for his extensive knowledge in the area of organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, pharmacy, biotechnology and physical chemistry during his years at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich. While working on his doctoral thesis, he completed studies in business administration and management at the Technical University of Munich, providing him with wide knowledge in the area of business administration and economics. His practical experience results from extensive research on boron-organic compounds and other related areas including the synthesis of new polyboranes and X-ray analysis of these compounds.
As a patent attorney with long practical experience he has prosecuted numerous patent applications and advised on patent conflicts in many chemical areas including inorganic and organic fundamental research, pharmacy, steelmaking, biotechnology and polymer chemistry. In addition, he has command over extensive experience in trademark matters and in the areas of employee inventions and licence agreements. He continuously shares his broad knowledge in the field of intellectual property rights in Germany, Europe and other jurisdictions with audiences from around the world in seminars and lectures.
Dr. Schön is admitted to practice before the German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO), the German Patent Court, the European Patent Office (EP0), the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and – in patent nullity cases – the German Supreme Court.
