After his studies in electrical engineering in Erlangen and Caltech in the USA, Karsten Caspary began his career as a technical consultant in an American company. He participated in various research, development and implementation projects in the telecommunications and Internet industries.

His practical experience, combined with excellent English, swift comprehension and a broad technology background – ranging from electronics and mechanical engineering to software – enables Karsten to quickly grasp new technical matters. His clients – in particular SMEs in Europe, as well as in the USA and in Asia – benefit from this capability as well as his experience in providing strategic IP advice.

In his many years of practice as a patent attorney, Karsten has developed the following specialties: prosecuting and enforcing patents in Europe, drafting patent and utility model applications, assisting in examination procedures and disputes such as opposition proceedings and revocation and infringement actions. His technology focus is primarily on electrical engineering, electronics, telecommunications, software, blockchain, medical engineering, measurement technology, mechanical engineering and packaging technology.

He puts further emphasis on supporting clients in trademark and design prosecution and disputes, as well as preparing expert opinions on validity and infringement.
